Latest updates for ECEC

Thank you to all our families for their ongoing support during these challenging times. We understand the current evolving nature of COVID-19 and the unprecedented steps required to protect our community as recommended by the Australian Government, has created a number of challenges for our families. Boorowa Early Education Centre would like to reassure you that we continue to remain open during this extended lockdown, providing a safe, nurturing, and consistent environment. The health and safety of our children, families and staff is of utmost importance, and with information rapidly changing, our service continues to monitor health alerts and implement measures suggested by key health experts to minimise the transmission of COVID-19. Below you will find details of how we are managing COVID-19 in our centre and supporting our families and team members during this period of change and uncertainty. As always, we will continue to update you with the latest information relevant to Early Childhood Education and Care.

The Federal Government has announced greater flexibility in childcare absences for our CCS eligible families during these stay-at-home orders. This means any absence days taken during this lockdown will not impact your overall 42 Allowable Absence days and you will continue to be substituted. Additional allowable absences will be automatically available until the end of the hotspot declaration.

We continue to focus on health and hygiene as our team, children and families attend our centre. If your child is experiencing even the mildest of symptoms, we are urging our families to get them COVID tested and exclude them from care until they return a negative result. Our educators are also ensuring they are complying with these measures.

We will continue to uphold strict cleaning practices throughout this lockdown by continuing to abide by our cleaning checklists, ensure good ventilation, handwashing procedures and sanitising before entering the building.

Educators will share some exciting play-based experiences for our families to implement at home. This will be communicated via Storypark.

We encourage families to stay up to date on current exposure sites by visiting the NSW Health website.
